Boxes

Boxes are an inexpensive way to organize a small collection.  Boxes are measured by the capacity of sport cards they will hold.  Star Trek  CCG cards are as thin as playing cards and are approximately 1/2 the size of sport cards. So, for Star Trek CCG cards, a 200 count box will hold roughly 400 Star Trek CCG cards.

Even if you move your collection to a binder formation, it is still a good idea to keep your playing decks in a box.

Binders

Once you have amassed several boxes worth of cards, you may start to find it difficult to find the card you are looking for.  Sifting through cards is time consuming and can damage one or more cards in your collection.

Binders filled with card pages are quite a bit more expensive, however you will find it much easier to organize a growing collection.  In addition, the binders and pages protect the cards and reduce handling damage.

Start with one binder and begin sorting your collection into your pages.  If you wish, you may use one large binder such as a D-ring for your entire collection.  If you know that your collection will be growing beyond a single binder, start with a couple of 1" binders.  Use different colors to help differentiate between the cards stored in each one.

Gargantuan Collections

Should a larger organization be required, you can take a page out of Praetor Terrill's book.

Start out with a hanging file box.  Use one that will be unlikely to break under weight.  Select 5 1" binders and one 1/2" binder and fill them with card pages.  The binders and boxes can be obtained at any office supply store.

Plastic Boxes

Plastic boxes are perfect storage for frequently used cards or as a cache for cards that need to be sorted into your collection.  They are small and fit nicely into a storage box.
