How To Beat the Chancellor With Any Deck

By Terrill

Today I will be infiltrating the Good Chancellor's Area to reassure those of you who think they don't have a snowball's chance in hell to beat the  good Klingon oppo.  I will probably be maimed and dismembered in the next grudge match  for my actions, but hey, after all I am Romulan.

1. Keep your Deck simple

Don't over complicate your deck with Nors or treaties or strategies that require more than one card to implement.  A good example of this is wormholes.  You may be fortunate enough to get one in your hand during the card draw.  But if the other is in the bottom of the draw deck it will do you no good.

2. Keep Your deck small

The smaller the deck the more likely you are to get the cards you need.

3. Use any and all counters you have.

If you have any counters (Amanda or Kevin or Q2) put them all in your deck.  You will need them.

4. Use many personnel with redundant attributes.

Lots of Exobiology and engineers and security and honor will get you by many dilemmas.

5. Use large ships (with cloaking device if possible).

Cloaking devices will help you avoid battle and sneak you around the spaceline.  A small cloaking device for small ships and a stolen cloak for large ships.

6. Put dilemmas in that will either kill personnel or stop entire away teams.

Try not to put dilemmas in your deck that someone could potentially circumvent.  Killing vital people or stopping an entire away team is a good way to stall your opponent.

7. Don't start your missions too soon.

Not being ready for dilemmas is the one thing that can doom you from the beginning.

8. Use as few enhancements as possible.

Don't be a target for Kevin Uxbridge.  Use some redundant events like The Traveler and Red Alert but keep them to a minimum.

9. Do not be the aggressor.

Being aggressive against someone who has the power to annihilate you is not a good idea.

10. Use cards that delay like temporal rift.

These cards can lure out Amanda Rogers and some Kevin Uxbridge as well as delay your opponent.
