Leave the Technology at Home

Equipment just isn't what it used to be. You used to be able to make an officer an engineer or doctor or some other thing. In second edition, the equipment is all but worthless. Your medical might get exobiology, but unless it doubles a skill they already have and for more than just one person, the equipment really doesn't keep your people from dying, being imprisoned, or being stopped. So Leave your equipment at home until it can really do some good.
