Selecting a Card Box

Card boxes are inexpensive and can be used for a variety of purposes.  Selecting the appropriate card box for a specific purpose seems as though it might be a minor issue, however getting exactly what you need in a card box requires a little more than the first box with flaps you see for $1.99.

Single row boxes come in sizes from 100 - 900 count.  This count is measured by how many baseball cards it can hold which are up to 4x thicker than your average Star Trek CCG card.  Therefore, a 100 count box (about the size of a baseball) will comfortably house a single deck of about 200 cards (or about 120 in sleeves).

A 100 count box is good if you only play a single deck, but carrying around 3 deck boxes along with all of the supplies you need can be a bit cumbersome to say the least.  A good piece of advice is to determine all of the stuff you want to carry around, line it up and measure the how long it is.  Then get the corresponding box.

Boxes like the first and second anthology boxes with removable lids sound like a good idea -- up until you drop them.  Not only will you ruin a very nice box, but you will find out why I do not recommend these boxes as you pick up your decks from the floor.
