We Are The Borg and we have a headache
Lt. Skidmore had the unique pleasure of testing the Borg deck from the Romulan Empire. While many problems were apparent in the new deck, the Borg just managed to eek out 100 points after assimilating Skidmore's Husnock ship and 3 personnel. The coalition managed to evade at least one attack from the borg but remained scoreless. Trying to play the Borg gave Terrill a migraine.
Finally! A feature match!
Bajor suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Cardassian Union. The Feature Match everyone had been waiting for was decidedly one-sided as the Bajoran resistance camped out at the bottom Leejr's deck. The one card that might have helped (The traveler) was nullified by a well-played Kevin Uxbridge. Final Score Cardassian 105 - 0 Bajoran.
Welcome to Gre'thor - The Klingon side of hell.
Kim k'chiq took on Admiral Froelich in a match-up that probably should have gone better than it did. Eager for points, K'chiq headed out to make her fortune only to have her entire ship and crew destroyed by a subspace fracture. Shortly thereafter, the Federation chalks up 35 points of its own. Recovering from the blow, the Klingon Empire scratch out another 30 points but not before digging up a Sheliak. Using a new Quantum Slipstream Drive, the Admiral flies the Future Enterprise to score a final 30 points on the opposite end of the spaceline. Final score Federation 100 - 0 Klingon.
Romulan - Klingon border war.
The Klingon Empire, still reeling from the shut-out in the first game, K'chiq came out of the outpost screaming for points again. Although losing 15 points to a higher the fewer, she goes on to start 20-0. Like a three-year-old on crack, she flew around collecting points and taking some impressive losses to dilemmas. Scoring an impressive 73 - 0, it looked like the Klingons might just defeat the Romulan Empire this time, Obviously still suffering from the headache, Praetor Terrill's Romulan force was stopped in 2 places by the total lack of Stellar Cartography and by a Radioactive Garbage Scow in another. Not to be outdone, however, the Romulans quickly moved the scow, and solved 2 other missions in the same turn to close the game in less than 30 minutes 73-100 Romulan.
Spoonheads and Ferengi - not just any breakfast cereal!
The Cardassian Empire was the first to score 30 points on the board. The Ferengi countered with a 40 point mission. Each player then became aggressive and attacked each other's ships in a move that could only end badly. With a few words of advice from a referee, Damon Darc high-tailed it to his other outpost and was able to download 4 gold pressed latinum cards from the previous battle. Unfortunately, Darc forgot to move his ships one move and the Cardassians scored a final 75 points to ending the game 105 to 40 Ferengi.
One note on this game. Damon Darc was called on 2 Alternate universe dilemmas in which the AU doorway was not in effect.
This is the game that never ends; it just goes on and on my friends!
Time was not called on this three player match up between the Klingon (Admiral Froelich), Bajoran, and Non-aligned. This game was almost 3 hours long and clearly the scoring race throughout the game was the Klingons. Skidmore, who had not scored in the first game, was scoreless halfway through this one. Bajor scraped up 11 and the Klingons were in the lead with 60. Skidmore had just been eliminated by a dilemma and was in the process of rebuilding his fleet. In an attempt to give a problem to the Bajoran people, Skidmore had towed a Garbage scow to his own outpost to be used later. This handicapped him greatly. With some help from Terrill, he got back on track and drew out 2 Kevin Uxbridges from Froelich's hand which made the game much longer. In a fine piece of strategy, Skidmore played a pair of wormholes on Froelich's Negh'var, moving him to the end of the spaceline. This made Skidmore a prime target for a Supernova played on his outpost which he countered with a well-played Kevin Uxbridge: Convergence. Res-Q -ing his nullified supernova, Froelich played it again on Skidmore's outpost, obliterating his fleet. Meanwhile, Bajor racked up 96 points - outscoring the Klingon Empire by 1. A Kazon Bomb wiped out the away team on Terrys' next mission and cost him 15 Resikan flute points. With the Klingon Empire Closing in on a win with 120 points and a Hor'gan on the table, Leejr went Kamikaze and played an Anti-time Anamaly! Skidmore responded by not reporting the personnel he had in hand. By the time the Admiral had his turn, the anti-time anomaly had taken its toll and wiped out all of the personnel on the table. Skidmore, who had been the victim of mis-seeds, supernovas, and Klingon attack was completely unaffected. The Klingons were completely wiped out and no longer able to score. In a last ditch effort, both Bajor and the non-aligned tried to score but were not able to do so. Final score: Klingon 120 - Bajoran 106 - Non Aligned 0.
