September 23, 2001 Game Notes

Winners: Romulan x2, Federation, Bajoran x2

It was a good day to die.

With an experimental Klingon deck, the Federation took on the Bajoran people in the first of 2 rounds.  In an incredible turnaround, the persistent Bajorans held off the Klingon onslaught to reach 100 points.  One of the details going against the Klingons was their reliance on a supernova to end the game which was not included in the deck!  I smell a grudge match.

The Romulan Empire de-cloaked themselves for a match up with Lt. Skidmore and his Non-aligned Fleet.  In no time, the Romulan Fleet amassed 75 points to 0 at which time they turned their attention to eliminating the Non-Aligned Fleet.  This was done swiftly with the loss of only 2 ships in a gallant act of retaliation by Lt Skidmore.

Gul Tonec, having arrived during the first round, faced the might of the Federation in the second round.  Moving quickly, the good Gul managed to amass only 5 points before he became tripped up by a dilemma and then supernovaed in an admitted "un-Federation like move".  This crippled the Cardassians as there was no more outposts to be had.  The Cardassians are not likely to take this destruction lying down.  They will be back bigger, stronger, and better prepared.

In the first 150 point three person game, the Bajorans met with the Non-Aligned and the Romulans to go head to head to head.  While the game started out slowly, the Romulans soon had the upper hand scoring 0-65-0.  By stealing a mission with no dilemmas under it, the Romulan Empire scored an easy 30 points then breezed through a 40 point mission.  With a Bajoran Q-net cutting off half of his spaceline, the good Lieutenant had a hard time attempting his missions.  By pulling out a static warp bubble, the Bajorans did a considerable amount of damage to both of his opponents, but the Romulans were able to stick it out until the proper cards came up to nullify the warp bubble.  The Coalition forces were affected by the card the rest of the entire game which brought about the end 0-175-55.

Next week: Federation Forces cross the Neutral Zone to take on the Romulan Empire in a match up that will go down in history!

Cardassian vs. Bajoran - Will the spoonheads occupy Bajor again?

???Ferengi vs Klingon vs Non-Aligned???  Will Lt Skidmore pull of his first victory?
