Pahl Pt'n November Player of the month.

Congratulations to our Dominion player as the guild has nominated him as player of the month for November 2002!

Second Edition Conversion

Ok, let me explain what is really going to happen when we convert to second edition and address some of the concerns some of the members have addressed.

I already have first edition decks and a collection I have spent a ton of money on.

First off, we are not abandoning first edition all together.  I personally have several thousand dollars in my collection and many hours of collection invested.  Our Fleet Admiral has just as much invested, and Pahl Pt'n has more than the both of us combined.  I have no intention of abandoning first edition completely and I would like to continue to play long after second edition comes out.  Not even Decipher is converting completely for a year.

Why are we playing second edition at all?

Those who have acclimated to first edition may wonder why we have to switch to Second edition at all.  Second edition is being released because guilds like ours all over the country and the world are having trouble keeping members because of the increasing complexity of the game.  Admittedly, myself and the Admiral both quit the game because we were unsure of where or how to play the alternate universe cards.  With simpler rules, and an equal chance for everyone to collect cards, the guild stands to benefit

I already have first edition, why would I need second?

Second edition is not only a whole new game, but you will be able to get cards that can be played in the first edition play.

I really don't have much money to go tracking down cards for second edition.

The best thing about switching to second edition is that everyone has the same opportunity for cards.  I could buy a whole box of cards and still not get all of the cards I need.  You, on the other hand, could buy one package and get exactly what I need.  This premier set will be in print for several years, so you have plenty of time to get your collection together one pack at a time if you have to.  My suggestion for those on a limited income is: buy a starter deck and a couple of packs so you can play.  Then build your collection slowly.

Please bring cash not snacks.

I know that soda and candy might be cheaper and more plentiful elsewhere, but help us support the guild by purchasing snacks and soda from the machines in the stores.  All of the money stays in the guild to help us pay for tournaments and other expenditures.

Second Edition

Second Edition release is scheduled for 12-13-2002.

Member Info Sheets

It has been my failure that everyone has not filled out a player of the month sheet.  I will try and remember next week.
