Multiplayer Rules

Updated: 7-10-2002

Sometimes it is necessary to play a 3 or 4 player game to allow everyone to play in the game.

1. A 3 player game plays in an open box shape.
2. A 4 player game plays in a closed box shape.
3. To win any game, you need 50 points X number of players. (ex. 2 players = 100 points, 3 players = 150 points, 4 players = 200 points.)
4. If all players fail to score the required points, the person with the most points is the winner.
5. The 2 players with the most points score a win.  The overall winner of the game also gets a prize (when available).
6. Players may only seed outposts on the spaceline in front of them.
7. Unless the player is playing a different quadrant, the missions must be mixed across the table with at least one mission on each opponent's side.
8. Players with other quadrants in a 3 player game must have access to the end of the spaceline and must play together . They may not play in the middle.
9. When moving from your native spaceline to another, your ship moves to the inside of the ring.
10. In a 4 player game, other quadrants play away from each other.  Regions must still play together.
11. In a 4 player game, when playing Where No One Has Gone Before, there are 4 ends of the spaceline. That player's ships may move from one corner to the one diagonally across from it.
12. Only 6 mission cards may play in any 3 or 4 -player game.
13. A game with multiple players may be allowed 30 additional minutes of play per player.
14. Players must decide and agree on a side in which to play the draw decks prior to game play.  All players must play their draw decks on the same side to avoid confusion.
